We opened the X call for Bog.EXP.Film.Fest.

Therefore we call on all artists, filmmakers and audiovisual creators or filmmakers, from Colombia and the world, non-conformists and dissidents from the predominant modes of production and creation to participate by sending us their artworks.

Experimental cinema is a poetic, free, radical and disruptive cinema that responds to the aesthetic, political or philosophical need to see and explore cinematographic horizons far from the colonial, massive, hegemonic and/or industrialized modes of audiovisual production that exclude and predominate in contemporaneity.

We believe that ‘the experimental’ is not limited to an aesthetic or technical category in the cinematographic or audiovisual field; We understand it as an unequivocal symptom of a community that is dissatisfied with the rules. The experimental represents a powerful way to problematize, question or subvert what is established in order to transform, to contribute to cultural change and social dialogue.

The X Bog.EXP.Film.Fest, CineAutopsia, aims to give value and positioning to this anti-normative cinema and audiovisual and its creators; It is a space of expression, visualization and dialogue for political/aesthetic subjects who consciously choose to create outside the norm.

Send your films, without limitations on format, duration or technique or theme, until March 31, 2024 and be part of this dissatisfied community that proposes a change. Experimental cinema is avant-garde.

Bog.EXP.Film.Fest, Cineautopsia uses the FILMFREEWAY platform to receive artworks worldwide.

Bog.EXP.Film.Fest, Cineautopsia is celebrating its X edition in 2024 and for this occasion, we call for works and artists from Colombia and the world who are non-conformists and dissidents from the predominant modes of production and creation. We privilege the author’s perspective in unique creative processes in their plastic exploration and that involve the laboratory or public space as a center of experimentation, that make use of various technologies and develop dynamics of individual creation, artistic collective or in interdisciplinary groups.

During these X years of the festival, we have committed to recognizing and highlighting free, radical and purposeful experimental cinema, which responds to the needs of the author from an aesthetic, political or philosophical position and which raises artistic horizons far from large industries and hegemonic formulas of audiovisual production: transforming ways of doing things in search of varied creation methodologies, strengthening ways of thinking regarding aesthetics and technique (audiovisual plastic arts), as well as meeting audiences in a more sensitive and emotional way, achieving to encompass new possibilities of interaction and participation of experimental cinema within the cultural and social spectrum of nations.

We believe that ‘the experimental’ is not limited to an aesthetic or technical category in the cinematographic or audiovisual field; We understand it as an unequivocal symptom of a community that is dissatisfied with the rules. The experiential represents a powerful way to problematize, question or subvert what is established in order to transform, to contribute to cultural change and social dialogue.
It is through experimental cinema that we find authentic ways of creating audiovisual art and in this way, we give rise to any artistic manifestation where form and content risk dismantling what is established, explore creative limits that challenge generalized aesthetics, whether everything is used in a variable way any type of devices and elevating both the expressive means and the relationship between the public and the artwork, inviting to formulate new exhibition spaces and circulation strategies.

To celebrate these X years of the festival, the thematic focus of the call focuses on the expressive media of experimental cinema: those located from the film format or from the purely perceptual and material. There will be versions of “being” in the world, problematizing its existence and its relationship with nature. There will be room to understand the body as a scene of plastic action, works situated from sound experiences and the use of the audiovisual archive towards plastic and ideological experimentation.

Under these parameters, any audiovisual artwork without limitations on format, duration or technique is welcome to apply. We accept artworks that fit the idea of experimental cinema and the subgenres: found footage, cameraless cinema, abstract cinema, mixed media film/video, video art, video sculpture, video dance, video performance, choreography and improvisations, music video, sound art, animation, screen art, expanded cinema and virtual reality.

In this X version of the festival that will happen in Bogotá in August 2024, we want to strengthen the programming in spaces of artistic and outdoor interest, as well as the online exhibition from the official platform of the festival. We will have meetings with artists, academic sessions, a creative laboratory and an editorial space on our website.
