COLOMBIA PANORAMA

Technical errors of the urban landscape, narratives for memory and gender, programmed images and other modes of experimental animation and documentation pass before the eyes of the spectators adding layers of meaning from the experience that the images and the non -regulatory sounds provide, to leave in them the image of what we are and we are not audiovisually in Colombia. In this way, these 7 works make up a program that completes the map of the national audiovisual experimental vanguard of 2023.

Consciousness about the world is not unique or privileged, but in audiovisual art the question lies in what surrounds us and how the space/time factor affects us. In this program different looks interposed, among other topics, for the daily and research becoming, also for the influence of science and technology in human life, as well as by the critical/philosophical discourse and the notion of “body” as plastic matter for audiovisual creation. In this panorama, thoughts, memories and dreams of artists and directors are manifested through intimate images and the symbolic power of objects.

This panorama offers a network of time relationships. It wonders about the experience of life beyond what we perceive, without ignoring that there is a reality that struggles for change against a social and political memory that tends to be repeated. In turn, a perspective is proposed for being closer to the sensory and contemplation, as well as to find other possible links with nature.

We bring a look at that eastern area and for us distant from our planet, from its experimental audiovisual production to unveil some of its singular contemporaneity. Deep and fundamental spiritualities as well as interpellations to their cultural and political traditions, or simple observations of their aesthetics, languages, bodies or daily landscapes are enunciated from various technical tools in these 7 short films of different Asian territories such as: Iran, Japan, Myanmar, Philippines and Korea.
