VISUAL RESONANCES AND SYNESTHETIC TRANSLATIONS
This panorama is composed of 10 abstract, hypnotic and immersive works, at the sound and / or visual level, that propose unusual listening modes and imaginative and perceptual overflow by the viewer. The auditory is located in a primary place and maintains a dialectical, symbolic and disruptive reciprocity with the retinal, from where synesthetics and the capacity for experiential enjoyment arise.

vs (or “virtual spiral”) deals with the dynamics between time and body in film. On digital video and non-reliable 16mm-film the processual of time and (film) body is visually transformed by spiraling camera movements. Here, contrary movements, distance and proximity or depth and surface enter into a dialogue with each other. The spiral runs like a thread through the film vs. For creating the spiraling effect the artist Lydia Nsiah invented a camera tracking machine and shot in-studio, operating the movements of the camera live while recording. On screen we see found footage of data centers/ recordings of the physical bodies of our omnipresent data cloud. Artist Hui Ye composed the film’s immersive sound space interacting with the hypnotic and spiraling data body images.

A meditation on growth, connection and symbiosis, inspired by the entangled lives of fungi.
Recent years have seen a surge of research and collective curiosity around fungi. Particularly striking is the notion of the ‘wood wide web’ — the ability of fungi to connect plants and trees in complex underground networks.
Beneath is inspired by the behaviours of fungi, and wider themes of growth, connection and symbiosis. Using experimental analog and digital techniques, the films takes its audience into a hidden world where edges blur, connection is vital, and life thrives through togetherness.

For years I had been shooting with an iris attached to my lens creating a circle. The sun seemed to be a natural progression of the circle, especially its revolutions. The film is an accession into the heavens. This film was magically created from the soul of my spirit. The music was also magic that it glides the imagery into its many manifestations. This film is definitely the result of the magic of cinema capturing a spirit of space that would make George Melies cry in wonder.

A dream on a long dark highway.
Voyager Birdman is a frame-by-frame experimental animation made from spontaneous line drawings, rotoscoped video clips, and views of the highway filmed between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, USA. Sounds of podcast voices, old radio programs, Nasa recordings, and sampled audio files carried by the Voyager space probes launched in the late 1970’s merge with an unfolding stream of hand-drawn symbols, figures, abstractions, and fragments of the passing highway landscape. On one level, this work is about the idea of using drawing, animation and collage to find and create meaning. More directly, it’s an attempt to capture the fleeting dynamics of thoughts, memories and dreams experienced on a long night’s drive, much like the virtual and untethered character of contemporary existence, and the enduring lure of an interstellar connection.

The film poem TURBULENCE stands in the field of tension between surreal fantasy and multi-layered reality.
Telemach Wiesinger’s photographic recordings of aeroplanes from the perspective of the traveller encounter kinetic wing objects by the composer Alexander Grebtschenko.
In the congenial collaboration of the two artists, the electronically controllable “Chimera’s” – elegant bird wings with megaphone – unfold expressive “acting” presence.
The dialogue between the sound level (Grebtschenko) and the visual level (analogue film workshop Wiesinger) opens up space for emotions, thoughts and interpretations.
