MANIFEST OF CINEMATIC INSUBORDINATION

A CRY OF AUDIOVISUAL REBELLION

We rebel against conventions, against the tyranny of “good taste” and against the invisible chains that bind creation to the canon. We oppose the domestication of the creative spirit, the cultural anesthesia that turns art into a soulless product, an empty and sterile entertainment or consumption good.

We propose the experimental not as a technical category of the arts; We experience it as an explosion of creativity and poetry, a roar of rebellion, a radical force that rises to subvert and dismantle what is established. It is the edge of the knife that cuts through the norms, the structures, the expected, to propose new ways of creating, organizing and distributing the cinematographic discourse and image. It is the affirmation-action that creation has no borders, that thought cannot be pigeonholed, that the image is more than propaganda.
This festival, our festival, your festival, was born in Colombia, Bogota, a decade ago as a refuge, as a bastion for the insubordinate of cinema. Here, creators free themselves from hegemonic, commercial or colonial yokes; They dismantle industrial modes of production and reaffirm themselves as free subjects, unwavering in their conviction that art is a territory without owners, without rules, without limitations. Here, cinema is itself a manifesto against convention, an act of active resistance that clearly refuses to be domesticated. It is a place where the margins become the center, where the south becomes the north, where the excluded finds its voice, where the monster is beautiful, where madness and sanity mix in a chaotic and liberating embrace.

Avant-garde cinema is not satisfied with reproducing what is known; It is nourished by philosophy, politics, and the arts. It is a hybrid creature that draws from music, painting, dance, video, performance. It is a body that moves along the margins, a voice that screams, a gaze that pierces. It is an agent of change, an engine of transformation, a device of aesthetic and technical mutation, of critical thinking and cultural revolution. This avant-garde cinema dares to challenge norms, to problematize established structures, to create counternarratives that shake the status quo.
On this tenth anniversary, we affirm more strongly: experimental cinema is a life drive, a denial of artistic death. It is a cinema that breaks the linearity in which we live life, it is an action that inhabits all times at the same time.
This is our call: to the rebels, the non-conformists, those who refuse to follow the script written by others. This is your space, your refuge, your battlefield, your blank page. Here we celebrate creative freedom, aesthetic resistance, audiovisual rebellion. Here we build a past/present/future where each image has the power to start the spark that ignites the cultural revolution.
This is our manifesto, our expanded cry: experimental cinema is a rebellion, a challenge, a fight for the liberation of the audiovisual arts. May each projection be an act of insurrection, may each image be a declaration of freedom!
